When the operator answers, give your calling card number. From a push-button phone, dial 0 + the telephone number. Wait for the special tone and immediately enter your calling card number. COLLECT You can call collect if the person or firm you are calling agrees to pay the charge. If you want to make a collect call, please be sure to tell the operator when you place the call. Should you choose to accept a col- lect call, it is your responsibility to request the amount of the charges before you accept the call. By accepting the call, you accept billing of all the charges associated with that call. DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE For local numbers, dial 1+411 For long distance directory assistance dial 1 + area code + 555-1212 For 800 directory assistance dial 1 + 800 + 555-1212 You will be charged for directory assistance calls. The charges vary; please contact your long distance provider for their rates. To obtain a locations area code, please see page 13 or dial the Directory Assistance Operator at 1 + 411. LOCAL CALLS Dial area code + number to dial local phone numbers. INTERNATIONAL/OVERSEAS From a push-button phone, dial 011 + country code + city code + phone number. Wait for tone, immediate- ly enter your calling card number or give it to the operator if making a calling card call. From rotary phone, dial 0 or 00 , tell the Operator you want to place an international or overseas call. Give the operator the number you are calling + your calling card number, if necessary. PERSON-OPERATOR COMPLETED Call person-to-person when you must talk to a particular person or extension telephone. Operator service charges are higher than station-to-station calls. Charging begins when the called person or extension answers. STATION-CUSTOMER COMPLETED Discounts are available on calls you dial direct. Just dial 1 + Area Code + Phone Number. STATION-OPERATOR COMPLETED Call station-to-station if you will talk with anyone who answers. Operator service charges are lower than person-to-person calls. TIME AND CHARGES Customers, when placing calls, may request from the operator the amount of time charged to the call and the cost associated with the call. This service requires operator assistance and the call may be either sta- tion-to-station or person-to-person. TOLL FREE You can call toll free to telephone numbers that have the Area Code 800. Dial 1 + 800 + Phone Number. RATE PERIODS & DISCOUNTS FOR CALLS WITHIN TEXAS CUSTOMER-COMPLETED CALLS: The minimum initial period charge for Customer Dialed Station-to- Station Calls is one minute. OPERATOR-COMPLETED CALLS: The minimum initial period charge for Operator Completed Calls is one minute. Discounts do not apply to service Charges. Service Charges apply in addition to the Dial Station Charge, as appropriate, and will be charged whether the calls are completed or not. 11
